A Bold Bar Mitzvah Paper Suite

This youthful bar mitzvah paper suite was inspired by the guest of honor’s passion for engineering and building circuits. The bold colors and geometric patterns generated a techy look for the save the date, invite and reply card. We even chose vibrant envelopes and funky matching liners to really make the paperie pop.

Event Spotlight: Keeping It Colorful at John's Island Club

Taking it to the tropics! This time last year, LLE ventured south for a beachside wedding at John’s Island Club in Vero Beach, Florida. We partnered with florist Renny & Reed to design the beautiful leafy chuppah that was nestled amidst the palm trees at the ceremony site. Guests watched the couple tie the knot while perched on eclectic lounge style furniture, which was later rearranged into cocktail hour seating. For the tented reception, we brought in splashes of color with a wow-worthy dance floor ceiling installation, lush centerpieces and patterned table runners.

A Twist on the Traditional Invitation Suite

For this wedding’s custom paper suite, we paired a traditional white and gold color scheme with an out-of-the-box shape and a touch of soft pink. The gold foil stamping kept it classic, while the die-cut reception card and belly band gave the paperie a little extra pizzazz. And of course the couple’s monogram made for a sophisticated focal point of the invitation and event day stationery.

Event Spotlight: Butterflies and Blossoming Branches at The Plaza

It’s always a good party at The Plaza! Last fall, we had the pleasure of working with the sweetest couple on a wedding full of glitz, glamour and lots of pink. We added to the beauty of the Terrace Room by bringing in candles and lush greenery as well as hanging crystals and delicate origami butterflies from the ceremony arch. The theme fluttered into the reception, where guests found their seats with intricate butterfly place cards and danced all night long on a custom butterfly-adorned dance floor. Blossoming branch centerpieces, textured pink linens and floating candles provided the perfect finishing touches to this elegant affair.

What a thrill to be featured in the press at home and abroad last month! Brides Today, one of India’s premier bridal magazines, highlighted Lindsay’s tips for bringing a touch of New York to weddings around the globe. She also shared suggestions for personalizing guests’ place settings with thoughtful details. Meanwhile, newly launched event planning website PartySlate named LLE one of the top event planning companies in New York City. It was truly an honor to be featured alongside so many talented wedding industry professionals.

Event Spotlight: A Jewel-Toned Wedding at Weylin

While we’re wishing for warmer temps, let’s flash back to this lovely spring wedding at Weylin in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The happy couple walked down the aisle, which was flanked by floating orchids and candles, to a stunning, floral-covered chuppah. The bride and groom exchanged vows in front of more than 200 family and friends before the room was transformed for a night of glitz and glamour. The candlelit tables with jewel-toned flower arrangements and gold accents were the perfect complement to the bank-turned-event space’s gilded domes and intricate mosaics. The high-energy crowd hit the dance floor to the tunes of The Hudson Project Band and ended the evening with one of the couple’s favorite desserts, Momofuku’s famous funfetti cake.

Engage!17 Recap

Last month, Lindsay was honored to share her big ideas on the Engage!17 stage at Nizuc Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico.  Amongst a crowd of 350 luxury wedding industry peers, Lindsay spoke candidly about her personal strategies for combatting the Impostor Syndrome. She encouraged attendees to own their successes by finding ways to objectively evaluate their accomplishments, eliminating the reliance on luck to explain good (or bad) fortune and blocking out the noise to focus on personal growth and strengths. Taking a cue from Eleanor Roosevelt, Lindsay left guests with the message that “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent” — a personal mantra and her daily affirmation.

Beautiful Bridal Bouquets

As the year comes to a close, we chose just a few of the bridal bouquets we loved from our 2017 weddings. These brides trusted us to bring their creative and colorful visions to life and add the finishing flourish to their “I do’s.” One bride kept it sweet and simple with peach phalaenopsis orchids in a mono-botanic arrangement, while another picked calla lilies mixed with classic red roses to set the tone for elegant evening nuptials. Some of the newlyweds opted for unstructured shapes and lush greenery to accent their whimsical, romantic celebrations. Each bouquet was so special and personal, and it was truly a joy to see these lovely ladies carry our blooms down the aisle!

Pixeled Paperie

After years of Bar and Bat Mitzvah planning and design, Lindsay finally got to be the hostess with the mostess and create the perfect party for her son Charlie.  Like we do for all of our clients, Lindsay and our graphic designers created a paper suite that was modern and fun, while still reverent to the importance of the day. These 3-ply beauties featured double foil stamping, flat printing, a funky pixel pattern liner and wallpaper back.

Event Spotlight: A Moody Spring Wedding

This early spring wedding at The Foundry had a warm and sultry vibe, brimming with color, texture and depth. Our creative bride was inspired by high contrast patterns, painted floral motifs and a penchant for “undone luxury.” We approached the decor with some slightly uncharacteristic looseness that yielded a design that was polished, but not fussy.  We used the natural beauty of the venue as a canvas to maximize the overgrown green garden look, offering a foil to the full flowers and sleek black accents. Oh, and also, it was a pretty great party!

Meet Our Team!

Day by day, our events are getting bigger and better and busier, so Team LLE is continuing to grow to keep up with the action.  Our full-time staff of four is collaborating all day, every day on amazing weddings and parties and our part-time staff of more than 20 artists, producers and planners supports our every move as each celebration comes to life. Event Manager Viva Max Kaley joins Lindsay Landman Events with more than 10 years of experience in weddings and parties, having worked in catering, stationery and, of course, event planning. Event Coordinator Megan French is a natural-born planner and organizer with a background in journalism; years of red carpet interviews and post-celeb-breakup coverage makes navigating party planning pitfalls seem like a breeze. Design Manager Jen Gottlieb is our resident artist and just celebrated two years leading the LLE Design team and creating custom stationery and decor for each of our events. Team Captain Lindsay is still all-in on every task but endlessly grateful to be surrounded by three incredibly smart, creative, fun and hardworking women who make life in the studio a true joy.

Marry at The Mulia

Every once in a blue moon, I am honored with an epic "work perk." Not just your run-of-the-mill luncheon invite or branded tote bag, but a truly special experience.  Last month was one of those times, and let me tell you... it was the work perk to end all work perks. The Mulia Bali Resort, in conjunction with Destination EnSite, hosted me and some other esteemed event colleagues from around the world for a once-in-a-lifetime week experiencing the beauty, tranquility and opulence of this stunning resort and of magical Bali.  To say I'm a lucky lady barely scratches the surface.

We began the week with a few days to get settled and explore the resort... from the most intense station-style meals in The Cafe to workouts with in-house trainers in the Fitness Center and strolls along the soft-sand beach to cocktails on the SkyBar, getting settled was a joyous task to behold.

Once the rest of our group of planners and designers arrived at The Mulia, the true indulgence began. Multi-course breakfasts, lunches and dinners featuring unique and gracious service (you have never seen tea poured quite like this!) and cuisine from every part of the world, one dish more exceptional than the next.  Custom china, linens, napkins, serviceware and glassware like you have never seen... I was enchanted not just with every meal, but with the way in which each meal was presented to me as if I were the resort's most special guest.  There is no question in my mind that every guest at The Mulia gets this royal treatment, but I always felt like the chosen one.  Did I already mention that every staff member on the property addressed me by name at all times of the day, in every location, even after I had changed my outfit and hair? For real.  Every time.

Bali is such a unique and special place and The Mulia did the most magnificent job of both bringing the culture of Bali to us as well as escorting us into the heart of Balinese culture.  Our first official program began with a traditional Kecak Fire Dance in which exquisitely costumed performers danced to music created by a chorus of men chanting. We were able to take an outing into the Sacred Monkey Forest and to see the breathtaking terraced rice paddies for which Bali is famous.  Prior to our final dinner, The Mulia created an authentic Balinese wedding ritual show with a bride and groom dressed to the nines and serenaded by two sets of stunning dancers, performing agin to the music of a chanting choir and child drummers.  The only female high priestess in Bali showered each of us with blessings and offered a powerful cleansing ritual.

This was more than a vacation and certainly more than a work trip.  More than a luxurious resort and more than a beautiful beach.  This was an experience that truly touched me and that will stay with me for all of my days.  I live in anticipation of my next opportunity to travel to Bali and to visit the Mulia... and I hope to have the chance to bring you with me!

Let's Lunch!

I am extraordinarily lucky to work in an industry brimming with talented, interesting, creative, hard

working people who, by being awesome at their jobs, make my job lightyears easier. So, as we began 2016, I wanted show a bit of appreciation for my colleagues and partners in crime. I gathered an intimate group at the spectacular Colicchio and Sons on a cold but sunny afternoon in January and showed them a little love in the form of good food, good wine and good fun!

Inspired by a fun linen from Party Rental Ltd., we designed a custom Lindsay Landman Paper invitation suite.

Sweet Ceremonies (Part 2)

Since it was so hard to choose only a few ceremony settings to share in my last post, I thought I'd keep it going with even more sweet wedding ceremonies!

Over 1000 flowers were woven in with green garlands, curly willow and pink cherry blossoms to create this dramatic chuppah.  Strands of crystals across the roof added extra glam for this focal point at the Highline Hotel. Amazing rose gold glitter runner from The Original Runner Company.

The bride said she'd been dreaming of a clear lucite chuppah... so that is what we created! Flowers across the top and at the base softened the look at Tribeca Rooftop.

With so many gorgeous arches in the New York Public Library, we had to mimic that beautiful shape with a curly willow and white dendrobium orchid construction.

This bold, asymmetric chuppah has become a favorite because it was at once simple and funky, soft and bright.  Since the view from Sixty Five at the Rainbow Room is such a wow, we wanted to make sure guests could appreciate both the setting and the scene.
